Writing can be a lifeline, especially when your existence has been denied, especially when you have been left on the margins, especially when your life and process of growth have been subjected to attempts at strangulation.

Honey, the neurologist was not ready for my daddy.

Pardon the spelling and grammar errors…..I have a brain injury. this blog going forward is in its raw form.

Today I went to see the neurologist after for the first time. First let me start off by saying mine had no appointments for at least a month so I had to see his wife. The office staff started off by saying my referrall was not right and I had to wait an additional 30mins. They came back and said that I was good to go.

Me and daddy went back and the lady was extremely rough in her demeaner whcih pissed my dad off. If you know my dad, that does not fly with hi, Before I knew it I was like let him have at it. Those two were going back and forth and he finally said through clinched teeth, “I’m her father”. She wrote me 4 RXs for whcich then took my meds total to 10. You know I was not abot to be taking 10 meds. She then gave me an injection in my nerve in the back of my head to help with the migraine I was still having from the TIA.
My dad told her about the “referral” incident and she then said, “oh with Tricare, you don;t need a referral”. So we had to sit for an additional 30 minutes for nothing. Her office staff did not know what they were talking about..

The kicker was that when we were out the door and down the hall, my dad decided he was going back in to ask another question . I politely told him, I was going to slowly make my way to the car because I was certain they were not going to allow him to go back in and see the doctor. Well, they did and he got his question answered. It is great being a daddy’s girl.
