Writing can be a lifeline, especially when your existence has been denied, especially when you have been left on the margins, especially when your life and process of growth have been subjected to attempts at strangulation.

PTSD and the Successful Woman

😔Towards the end of 2018, I was traveling monthly, eating terribly, exhausted and was seeing my therapist on the regular. She had already diagnosed me with PTSD and anxiety but I kept pressing through it all with tears in my eyes and fear and dread in my heart.

😭I was so scared to admit to anyone, including my husband, that I, Tanya Barnett, have PTSD. After all, I am supposed to be strong for him and the kids. I hid it from my tribe which further caused more anxiety, headaches, insomnia, dizziness, and panic attacks. This is my 1st time sharing this publicly.

I am sharing today because there are so many women who are “Ruling the World” at the expense of their mental health. If that is you, take a step back. Breath! Take a Break! Trust me, no one will even notice. “They” will not talk about you. “They” will go on with their lives and not miss a beat.

🙂In the upcoming months, I will be sharing more of my journey into finally walking into my purpose and serving others while I am serving me too.
